My 4-year-old’s 4 Letter Word

After out bike ride today, we went to Sonic to eat. I was getting everyone's orders and asked Ewan what he wanted to drink and he said it: "Soda." Soda? Soda? Where did her learn that word? We're a midwestern family; we say "pop." Where did he here "Soda?"

The temp got above 50° today, so we packed up the bikes and headed for the trail. We had anticipated good weather, so we dropped by Dick's yesterday and dropped a bunch of money on cool-weather clothes for the kids. (At my part of the street, you drive UP your driveway.) I got my shovel and offered Ora 5 $1 to help me and out we went to help shovel. It was short work with three people and she made it up her drive. After being in for about 1/2 hour, I saw another neighbor shoveling her drive. From seeing her husband arrive home, I knew that she ...

The weather called for blizzard conditions, so the boss started sending people home today around 1:30. One co-worker with a sporty car with low-profile tires couldn't make it down the unplowed frontage road that we work on and had to turn back. I decided I should get out while I could. The frontage road was bad with lots of snow shoved around by cars, but not plowed. I had my car in the lowest gear and just trudged through the snow. At parts it was like a one-lane road and you'd have to carefully move to the side to let ...
